Pete Cortez, Technical Instructor with New Horizons Computer Learning Centers of San Antonio, was recently recognized by EC-Council, a leading international certification body in information security, as one of the top three instructors in North America with the Circle of Excellence award. 2014 marks the eighth time Pete has been recognized by EC-Council for outstanding performance.
The EC-Council Global Awards launched in 2007 to recognize a distinguished group of accredited training centers and certified instructors who have succeeded in providing the best overall experience to EC-Council’s global customers and certified members.
“I’ve been fortunate to have influencers who’ve taken the time to impart their knowledge and wisdom to me,” said Pete. “Being backed by EC-Council year after year is quite an honor, and I attribute it, in part, to those mentors who have supported me throughout my career.”
Prior to joining New Horizons in 2001, Pete was a private investigator. Today, he holds over 14 certifications in information security.
“I love relating to students using my experience as an information security instructor and former private investigator. My teaching style provides students real-world hacking and forensic demonstrations,” explained Pete.
The International Council of E-Commerce Consultants (EC-Council) is a member-based organization that certifies individuals in various e-business and security skills. The EC-Council Global Awards program recognizes the ongoing commitment of Accredited Training Centers and Certified EC-Council Instructors that have contributed significantly to the information security community by providing leading information security certification programs.
